Janice Marchman flips State Senate District 15

Janice Marchman has earned enough votes to flip SD15 to Democratic control, increasing the Democratic majority in the State Senate. Marchman was able to secure victory in a midterm election with low Democratic turnout and outside Republican groups spending money to support Republican Rob Woodward. In response to the attack against abortion access and voting rights, Boulder and Larimer County voters replaced Rob Woodward with Janice Marchman.

“I am honored to have earned the support of the people of Larimer and Boulder County to represent them in the Colorado State Senate. The people have spoken clearly and voted to protect workers’ rights, women’s reproductive rights, and fight for working families. I am so proud of the work we have done to center the issues and focus on common-sense, real solutions to keep our communities strong. From creating more affordable housing to protecting our air and water to preparing our students for success, I will work hard to deliver results for the people of Larimer and Boulder County. I look forward to serving with Governor Polis, the State House, and my colleagues in the State Senate on both sides of the aisle to move Colorado forward. To those who didn’t vote for me this year, I want you to know that I plan to listen and fight for your needs in the State Senate too. This campaign has been about building bridges and returning a local voice to our politics. I look forward to doing just that in these next four years.

Janice Marchman is a middle school math teacher in Loveland, Colo. She plans on using her time in the State Senate to reduce costs for Colorado families, hold corporations accountable for price-gouging, and protect safe and affordable abortion access.
